ImmuKnow® as an immune monitoring tool following organ transplantation ImmuKnow® : biomarqueur de l’immunité cellulaire après transplantation d’organe
نویسنده
چکیده
R é s u m é » ImmuKnow® is a non-invasive biomarker of patient cellular immune status. It helps identify transplant patients at risk of overor under-immunosuppression after transplantation. ImmuKnow® detects intracellular ATP synthesis in stimulated CD4+ cells from whole blood. The amount of ATP produced refl ects global T cell function of patients exposed to a combination of immunosuppressive drugs. The ImmuKnow® assay defi nes three immunological response zones: strong, moderate and weak. These zones can guide physicians in patient management. The assay can be used in a variety of applications, including transplantation, management of infectious diseases, autoimmunity, cancer, as well as vaccine and drug development.

Serial ImmuKnow assay in stable kidney transplant recipients
OBJECTIVES The ImmuKnow assay (cylex Inc., Columbia, MD) has been reported to measure the global immune monitoring tool for organ transplantation recipients. We assess immuKnow ATP values in stable kidney transplant patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS Patients who were kidney transplanted between September 2008 and May 2011 were enrolled in the prospective serial ImmuKnow assay study. The criteria...
متن کاملExperience with immune monitoring in lung transplant recipients: correlation of low immune function with infection.
BACKGROUND Lung transplants, in particular, have the highest rate of infections among solid organ transplant recipients. However, there is no existing objective measure to predict the development of infections. We report the correlation between Cylex ImmuKnow (ng/mL ATP) values and various infectious syndromes in a large prospective cohort of lung transplant recipients. METHODS We followed up...
متن کاملTwo case reports of successful withdrawal of mycofenolate mofetil after living donor lobar lung transplantation.
BACKGROUND Lung transplantation cases have immunosuppression maintained using a calcineurin inhibitor, anti-metabolites, and steroid. CASE REPORT We report 2 clinical cases in which anti-metabolites (mycophenolate mofetil) were successfully withdrawn after living donor lobar lung transplantation by monitoring immune function using the ImmuKnow® assay. In the first case, a 43-year-old woman un...
متن کاملIn vitro immune cell monitoring as a guide for long-term immunosuppression in adult liver transplant recipients
BACKGROUNDS/AIMS We evaluated the clinical usability of immune cell monitoring in adult liver transplantation (LT) recipients. METHODS This study was composed of two parts as using calcineurin phosphatase (CNP) activity assay and ImmuKnow assay independently as in vitro monitoring tools of immune cell function in adult LT recipients. RESULTS There was a rough correlation between CNP activit...
متن کاملSingle time point immune function assay (ImmuKnow) testing does not aid in the prediction of future opportunistic infections or acute rejection.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Current assays and tests that are used to determine the degree of immunosuppression in renal transplant recipients are suboptimal. The ImmuKnow assay (Cylex), a measure of intracellular CD4+ T cell ATP release proposed as a means to quantify cell-mediated immunity in transplant recipients, could be considered as a potential tool to identify patients at risk for opportu...
